Teri's inspiration comes from the essence of her multi-cultural experiences while traveling the world. She then transfers that raw inspiration into concepts and designs that create workable patterns for the hair dresser to optimize profit - save time and achieve gorgeous results. For Teri it's about working smarter not harder, simplifying to get the strongest and most dramatic results for the client, with the quickest and most profitable results for the stylist.

Teri has designed hair for international fashion runway, television and film. She is a Platform Artist, freelance Hair Designer, Creative Director, Editorial Consultant and Photographer. In addition, each year she releases her own theme based collection of new looks that she has spent the previous year developing, both in theory and in practice.

Among Teri's many accolades, included in the list are being named "One of the Top 75 Educators of the 20th Century" by Modern Salon Magazine, and recently being awarded IHE's COLORIST OF THE YEAR 2008.

It became apparent a little over ten years ago that what when giving a seminar or during a show, especially when the audiences were large - that a lot of the education was lost, simply due to the fact that everyone couldn't see precisely where partings and sectionings occurred in a particular technique. Educators were bound to our PowerPoint slides with two dimensional drawings and hairdressers weren't able to reproduced the techniques when they returned to their salons.

Teri created the "Mad Hatter" in 1998 - a mannequin head with a velcro skull cap that covered the entire hair line. She then used felt pieces that had been cut into circles, ovals, crescents, triangles, rectangles, diamonds and a number of odd shapes that suddenly worked beautifully when wrapped around the curvature of an actual head shape. In 2004, Teri met her business partner, a brilliant graphic designer and photographer, and she showed him the Mad Hatter. She then explained that while the mannequin head worked great in a small group or when designing techniques, it needed to be presented to a large audience and it needed to be viewable on the computer and over the Internet. He simply said "We can do that!" and working with his team they developed the first 3d teaching software for hairdressers. The 4d teaching method made its debut in Paris on Thanksgiving day in 2004. Since then several CD ROM titles and Internet based courses have been produced and distributed.

Later, those same team members became the core principals in hairconcepts.com. Where Teri brings her expertise in teaching hairdressing and styling, and the technology geniuses are working specifically within the disciplines of animation, video post production and Internet application engineering to bring you the first complete, multi-media learning tool of its kind anywhere - and it's specifically for professional hairdressers.

Teri thought it was such a good idea, she went ahead and patented it!
